Islamic Economy Award
The Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre (DIEDC) hosts the Islamic Economy Award in partnership with Thomson Reuters. The award ceremony takes place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the directions of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.
Launched in 2013, the annual award recognises institutions and entrepreneurs providing global innovative solutions in compliance with stringent Islamic economy standards. It comprises eight categories – Money and Finance, Food and Health, Media, Hospitality and Tourism, Waqf and Endowments, SME Development, Islamic Economy Knowledge Infrastructure and Islamic Arts – in addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award that honours prominent entrepreneurs who have had a significant impact on the Islamic economy.
